Egyptian Bronze Seated Cat

 

An Egyptian cast bronze seated cat on original wood base, with original plaster fill securing the bronze to the wood. Old collection label, "E.1" underneath. No repair or restoration. 

 

Late Period, Dynasty XXVI,ca. 664-332 BC

 

Height: 15.2 cm.     (6 in.)

Width: 6.7 cm.     (2 11/16 in.)

Depth: 11.8 cm.     (4 11/16 in.)

British private collection of a lady from East Sussex, collected by her late husband P.A.W. Howe on 25th October 1963.
