EARLY IMPERIAL ROMAN STRIGILATED MARBLE URN
An Imperial Roman marble strigilated urn with original lid, the two handles as intertwined vines. Deeply cut spiral grooves over the body of the vessel, tapering downward to a ring base on a flared foot. Short circular neck with turned out mouth, the conical lid deeply carved in the same strigilated pattern as the body, with a knobbed terminal.
